People do countless things to keep themselves beautiful. But such a strange and controversial decision! A woman known as the Human Barbie wants the blood of her 23-year-old son to maintain an attractive figure and the luster of youth throughout her life. Previously, she had spent nearly 100,000 US dollars on various cosmetics to preserve her youthful glow, but nothing worked. So, no more cosmetics—now this mother wants her son’s blood, drawing widespread criticism on social media. Some are even calling her a vampire rather than a mother, suggesting that is why she desires her son’s blood.
Marcela Iglesias, a 47-year-old resident of Los Angeles, claims that having her young son’s blood in her body will help rejuvenate her cells, thereby preventing signs of aging. She has completed all preparations to use her son’s blood for this purpose. Marcela loves comparing herself to a Barbie doll. However, her son Rodrigo is aware of the situation and has given his consent. In fact, he is reportedly willing to donate blood for this method on behalf of his grandmother as well. Marcela is now searching for a skilled doctor to undertake the procedure within this year.
The decision has sparked a storm on social media. Some call it the ultimate example of vanity, while others mockingly label her a vampire mother. Although she will not drink her son’s blood directly, she plans to introduce it into her body through alternative means. While donating blood to save the life of a parent or someone else is common, the idea of a mother using her son’s blood to reduce aging signs is viewed as bizarre by netizens. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued warnings about the effectiveness of such procedures. According to them, the use of young donor blood is not scientifically proven and could pose health risks. Nonetheless, Marcela remains firm in her stance. She argues that transfusing blood in this manner will introduce fresh red blood cells into her body, bringing abundant oxygen, while the protein-rich plasma will help stop bleeding and promote healing.
Yet, the question remains: is this truly a method of preserving youth, or merely an extreme example of narcissism?
